Should Have Known Better

I should have known better
With a girl like you.
That I would love everything
That you do
And I do,
Hey, hey, hey,
And I do.

So, oh, I should have realized
A lot of things before.
If this is love
You've gotta give me more.
Give me more,
Hey, hey, hey,
Give me more.

And when I tell you that I love you,
You're gonna say you love me too,
And when I ask you to be mine,
You're gonna say you love me too?
You love me too.
You love me too.

Quirks

There have been so many obsessions: the red hat, the knee pads, skateboards, the helmet, you get the idea. None have been as.... quirky... as the latest one. Socks, on his hands. He calls them his gloves. I don't even know how he knows what gloves are. His favorites are Livi's socks. As a result, I have a bunch of unmatched socks all over the house and even a few in the car. It's true we get some strange looks when we are at the grocery store or Target, but he isn't hurting anyone. It just makes it hard to play with some toys and makes his hands sweat while he is sleeping (yes, he wears them to bed too).

The Happiest Place on Earth

We will be taking Liam to Disney World in a couple of weeks, but I am thinking we may have already found the happiest place on earth for Liam. On a recent trip to Best Buy, we discovered that they now have a new section in the back where they sell musical instruments. One of the guys who works there was awesome enough to lend Liam a pair of drumsticks. FYI- you can't hear the drums unless you have the headset on so that is why it doesn't sound so impressive. You can imagine the hissy fit that was thrown when we actually left.

8 Week Update

Went to the doctor's this morning and she stopped everyone in their tracks with how pretty she is. Those eyes just draw you in and before you know it she is smiling at you and then... fuggedaboutit... you're hooked! She is a pleasantly plump 14 pounds and 6 ounces and she is 24 inches long. Looking back, Liam's blog tells me that he weighed 6 ounces less than her at 10 weeks!

She has started to "converse" with people a lot more these days and she is full of smiles. It's really easy to get that dimple out of her and I can tell she is gonna be a ham in front of the camera when she gets older. The medicine we have been giving her has definitely done some good. She is sleeping a lot more during the day and isn't throwing up as often as before. We were just able to up the dosage a bit because of her weight so hopefully it will get even better.

Awesome Things Liam Says

Liam: I love that girl
Me: What girl?
Liam: That girl (pointing at me!)
Me: Me?
Liam: Yup
Me: Wow, I don't know who fed you that line, but I love it.
Liam: Daddy says it, daddy says "love that girl" (points at me again)
**love it**

This is a happy baby

Something I haven't talked about on the blog yet is Livi's acid reflux. Liam had it when he was a baby and he was miserable. Cried... no, screamed.... all the time. He didn't spit up a lot, but he was always uncomfortable and didn't handle it well. Livi, on the other hand, is a trooper. She spits up and even projectile vomits pretty often and I end up changing her outfit about 4 times a day. Mornings are her fussy time which is hard for me because I am working from home right now. So she spends the time between coming home from dropping off Liam to about noon, being fussy and agitated. And I spend that time trying to figure out if she is hungry or just uncomfortable. Feeding her takes forever because I am constantly burping her and calming her down from the reflux.

Because she is so tired, she sleeps like a log at night which is a double edged sword. Because she is SO tired she can only stay awake for about 5 minutes to eat. Since she doesn't get a full meal in, she wakes up every 2 hours to eat. And believe me, there is no waking up this child once she is out. Well, I finally gave in and admitted that maybe she would benefit from some meds and boy am I glad that I did. We started it last night and she got a dose this morning too. I can definitely see a difference already. She slept until about 10 and then ate. She was still a little fussy when she was eating, but a marked improvement. And this is only day one, so I suppose it could be a fluke or it could get even better. It was just nice to see her happy this morning instead of so uncomfortable.

On a side note, I also wanted to mention for posterity sake that last week I went for my checkup and we weighed my 6 week old and she was over 13 lbs. yikes! I guess that side effect of losing weight when you have acid reflux doesn't apply to her.

Easter Weekend

What a beautiful Easter weekend we had. The weather was fabulous and we had a really great time at Ney-Ney's house even though Nana and Papa were in Orlando with their other grandkid (who we miss by the way ;). Kids just make the holidays soooo much more fun. And it's only gonna get better every year as they start to understand it all more. Happy Easter everyone- I hope you all had as much fun as we did.
