I am sitting here at the airport with the other pathetic passengers all huddled up next to the charging station, juicing up one final time before we board. Our flight was delayed so we've been here for hours and I'm starting to get bored.
I realize that I haven't been bored in months and then I realize that I won't be seeing my kids for the next five days. Not sure how to deal with this.
I know we all need a break once in a while bit I can't help but feel like part of me will be missing while I am away. We wouldn't be able to have the same trip if they were with us and I know that. I also know that the second I get back and hear a meltdown I will wonder why I ever missed it. But for this moment, I kinda wish I was running after Livi and answering Liam's relentless questions. We're gonna have loads of fun and I'm super excited, but I am gonna miss the crap out of those darn kids. ❤

How I Know He's Mine
Some kids get rewarded (read: bribed) with candy or dessert if they finish their food. My kid will do almost anything for some kalamata olives and pepperoncini. (Disclaimer: candy also works ;)
Disney Slacker
Remember that one time, a week ago, when we went on vacation and I never really posted the pics from said vacation? Yea, well here ya go. Papa and Nana were with us and even gave Chris and I a day off from parenting duties. They took the kids to Gator Land and Lego Land (they do love their lands in Orlando), but since we were not a part of that adventure I have no pics to prove it.

Jedi Training
Getting his Jedi cloak |
Lucky for us we reserved a spot for Liam for the 1:50 viewing. Now as most of you know, Liam is a cautious soul and so many of the rides that he has been talking about endlessly for the past few months were met with panic and fear and "Mommy, let's go. I don't want to ride this." That's fine. We are not those parents that spend 20 minutes trying to convince him that he is missing out on a grand opportunity. Mostly because we are beginning to understand when it's worth pushing him to do something. Getting on a ride that scares the bejesus out of him just doesn't fit into that category. But we were crossing our fingers that he would want to participate in the Jedi Training. It's just so cool and we knew he would love the whole thing.
Well, he talked about it up until the time came to congregate in a back room with the other kids that would be participating. He got in line, he walked all the way to the stage and.... and... nothing. He was fine. He was excited. And we were relieved. He was brimming with anticipation. And although he needed help every time they were asked to "activate" their light sabers, he was proud that Darth Vader told him he could sense the "force in him". This little video is just the outtake of him going up against Lord Vader, but true Liam fans can catch the whole act here. If you watch the full version, you might be able to see the very real, albeit fleeting, fear that swept over his face when Darth Vader arrived. It was much more apparent in real time. Also, the part at the very end with the storm troopers was his very favorite part of the whole show and that's what he will tell you about if you ask of the experience.

Will Work for Disney
For some reason my kids have been on a Disney kick lately. Especially my Livi Lu since I don't think she much remembers her last trip and she looooves Mickey and Minnie. They have been asking for a while to go back and so I would answer that "Mommy and Daddy need to save their money cause it's expensive." Every time they asked when they would be able to go, this was the reply.
One day Livi asked me where I was going after I dropped them off at school and I told her I was going to work. "Oh, so we can go to Disney?" Yes Livi. I work solely to support our Disney habit. Wouldn't that be nice if it were the case? From then on, Livi began telling the teachers that I was going to work so they could go to Disney.
This was so ingrained in them that when we headed to Orlando this past weekend, it didn't even occur to them that we might actually be going to Disney World. Even after passing countless billboards (and they pointed out each and every one), they seemed perfectly fine with going to visit their cousin. This made me so proud. Then the day came (last Monday) when we actually were going to Disney. We surprised them with Mickey and Minnie shirts as a way to break the news and they were so excited. Soon after Liam would ask, "So we saved enough money? Now we get to go?". Yes bear, now we get to go. :)
