My Lovies

I know I am going a bit crazy with this post. 12 pics is a lot more than I usually put up, but hello! My friend Jordanna made me very happy by capturing the "essence" of these two and how they interact. These photos make me happier than you know.

Awesome Things Liam Says

Liam: Daddy, whats that?
Daddy: That is a picture of mommy and daddy in England.
Liam: What England do?
Daddy: It's a place. You should ask mommy if we could go.
Liam: Mommy will say no.
*Apparently I'm a killjoy*

5 Month Update

Weighing 16 pounds and 14 ounces and measuring at 26.25 inches long, Livi continues to be in the 90th percentile for weight and length. She is a practically perfect baby that whines only when she is hungry or tired. She is playing more and more with her toys, but her favorite thing to play with is her feet! I can no longer put her in pajamas without footsies because she grabs her socks and pulls them off in the middle of the night. And then I worry that she will suffer from hypothermia (dramatic much?).

She has lost the majority of her hair due to stupid cradle crap. I hate cradle cap and I want it to die a long, slow death. I want it to be excommunicated from society- never to return. But I digress...

She can roll over both ways now. She has her two front teeth in. And she absolutely will not cuddle. Her head is always held high, no matter how many different positions I put her in. She is still spitting up alot, but since it doesn't seem to be painful the doctor says no medicine is necessary. We just have to wait until she grows out of it.

Swimming Lessons

So remember how I said Liam was not really big on going into the water? I felt like he was missing out on alot of fun because of it and also wanted the assurance that he would know what to do if God forbid he ever fell into a pool and we couldn't get to him in time. Enter Suzanne from Edge Aquatics. For anyone interested in getting swimming lessons for their kids in South Florida, I highly recommend Edge Aquatics. They come to you and they are super affordable.

This kid went from kicking and screaming when I dropped him off to giving high-fives, floating and (*gasp*) going under water. On the fifth and final day, he left me with a smile on his face and was excited to get in the water. Suzanne says he will be swimming in no time and I am sooooooo proud of him.

PS- Please excuse the stupid, black bars in these pictures. I had to be out of sight for the whole lesson thing to work so I was hiding out in our clubhouse which for some reason has bars on the outside.

A Tooth!

That barely visible white thing on the bottom right of Livi's mouth broke through yesterday. There were a couple times before I thought Livi was teething, but she wasn't. This was the real deal.

Obviously, teething made her a bit cranky and rightly so. It gave me a glimpse into what life could have been like had she not been a perfect baby and has made me even more grateful for her awesomeness. One overly dramatic child is enough for me thank you very much.

Breakthrough

I really need to start giving this kid more credit. We almost didn't go to this little shindig because we "knew" how Liam would react to seeing the big, red dog known as Clifford in real life. To put it lightly, he has never cared for characters. He has always been downright petrified of them. And this outing was no different at first. Then he spotted his buds dancing and swaying in the back row and ran to them.

When the line formed for kids to meet and take pics with Clifford, he choose to sit back with mom and be more of an observer. Until, once again, his buds took the stage with Clifford and then the craziest thing happened. This kid wandered into my shot! And not just any kid- MY kid! Before I knew it, he was wanting to take his own pics and giving Clifford high-fives. I don't know why I find this whole event so fascinating. Maybe to me it signifies a bit of growing up on his part. Like he is finally thinking about the situation and realizing it's silly to be afraid. Or maybe I am overthinking it as usual and he just succumbed to peer pressure?

Hmph!

This isn't supposed to go so fast. We had an agreement Livi. We were gonna stay in this baby phase for a while. Did you forget? Now, you are pulling your body up, trying to sit up on your own. And last night, you up and rolled yourself across the floor to get to a toy. I don't know if we will have another kid so I will only tell you this one more time... PLEASE! just slow it down...please...

❤ Family ❤

I may or may not have promised two small boys some chocolate in order to get these photos.
